Celtic hammered Newco 5-1 home and away last season, knocked them out both cups, won one other game and conceded a late equaliser, allowing Newco their only moment of (cough) glory last season.
We finished 39 points ahead of Newco (who were 33 points from bottom). As we set off for the summer, glowing after the first invincible treble in history, chairman of Newco, that complete muppet Dave King, told the assembled media, “In footballing terms I don’t think Celtic are as far ahead as they could have been – certainly with our new signings.”
The two 5-1 defeats now look like Python’s Black Knight losing his legs one at a time, but protesting they were little more than flesh wounds. Except Python was a parody, this guy is being serious!
So, Brendan, Peter, Dermot, get the finger out. These people don’t believe 5-1 is a substantial enough winning margin. When we pitch up at Ibrox on the weekend of 23/24 September, ‘go Medieval on their ass’ to borrow from Quentin.
Take five minutes to update yourself on The Road to Lisbon cyclists, who traveled from Celtic Park to Estadio Nacional last month.
This has been a phenomenal and inspiring effort by a group of Celtic fans – and so many donors. What a great thing to be a part of.

16 Roads,
I don’t think Celtic would have advocated playing the game on Friday.
I believe that would come from the PSNI and Linfield, borne out of police manpower availability and Loyalist hangovers.
You, better than most on here, know what the atmosphere in Belfast is like during that week.
Even without a visit from Celtic it would be poisonous.
Now with Celtic visiting, the thugs will be like Tam O’Shanter’s wife, ” nursing their wrath to keep it warm”.
It is possible that Celtic would not have handled tickets, no matter when the game was played.
The club can’t physically protect fans, as Amsterdam and Gallowgate proved, that is the local police’s duty.
Therefore, it would appear that the PSNI can’t guarantee our fans safety either.
Either way, we couldn’t win.
Personally. I would err on the side of utmost caution in this case.
I also believe that we have a ream of men who can go the WP and do the business, no matter how hostile the atmosphere. It is not too long ago that we went to Ibrox, with a poor team and could have won.
Our shitebag board have slapped every Celtic supporter from Ireland in the face
We accept you coming to Celtic park but we are too scared to come to Linfield
Every bus from the occupied 6 counties should be paid for by our money grabbing board
Arseholes
TET, fickle is an understatement ;-)
Fan A Tic,
I agree. We are not one of UEFA’s favourite clubs, for reasons mentioned.
As said, we are the Scooby Doo outfit.
The fact that w are the main victims of the SFA , UEFA endorsed corruption and have shareholders who have the cheek to call out UEFA on it, doesn’t help endear us to them.
Good to see ole BT sitting on the fence :-))))))
Next month’s Twelfth celebrations in County Fermanagh will be broadcast live on the BBC, it has been confirmed.
“The sight, sound and colour of the Lisbellaw parade will be showcased to a wider audience, in a first for Orangeism locally,” said a spokesman recently for the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland.
He pointed out: “To facilitate the outside broadcast, County Fermanagh Grand Orange Lodge are embarking on a major logistical exercise by moving the start time of the traditional main parade forward by over 90 minutes to meet requirements.”

******
Celtic are not scared to go to Linfield.
Their concern is about the safety of the support first and foremost.

Personally I wouldn’t have it any other way! Cheats need to be exposed.
VP
They are depriving our support who live in the6 counties from going to a match close to their homes
Wouldn’t it be simple to just give those bhoys/ghirls their chance to support their/our team on home soil?
Good Evening.
Here is something new:
“Dave King’s Finest Hour – A Guest Blog”
https://theclumpany.wordpress.com/2017/06/23/dave-kings-finest-hour-a-guest-blog/
We have enough supporters clubs in Ireland to cover our allocation and has been said by those who post in cqn they aren’t going in blindfolded
BT, thanks.
I’m sorry I didn’t make OT67’s BBQ but I was three sheets to the wind by the time I left the Beer Cafe, as I am sure one or two will testify, well those who weren’t in a similar state, lol.
BT
It’s a game of fitba, the good fholks from 6 counties have had to put up with
a living hell just to get by.
HH
TTT
As I said to VP why not give our Irish base clubs the chance
Or more importantly raise the fact why we can’t play there
Same as Reg 12 money
Anyway BBC 4 have Chrissy Hynds on
I predict a riot….and a fair few flounces……………
VP
Aye , they have no fear in attending that hole then
It’s my opinion and I’m sure those who live through it should have the choice
three sheets to the wind
to be explicitly drunk; inebriated
origin: sheets actually refer to the ropes that are used to secure a ship’s sail. If the 3 ropes used were loose in the wind, the sail would flop around, causing the ship to wobble around, much like a drunk.

I’m sober as I’m keeping myself for tomorrow

Chrissy and The Pretenders still got it.
Why did Jim Kerr let her go? :)
Pog, you are on good form today!
HH
so there you have it the consensus on cqn is for the status quo lets ask a question would a hibs walk be allowed in linfield.
Chrissie Hynde may not have been the most beautiful woman on the planet but oh does she ooze sex appeal??!
One of my favourites of all time, her and Helen Mirren from my youth, drooooool.

Our Board are depriving our support of being badly beaten up, or murdered …. these peepul aren’t normal human beings
Friesdorfer, thank you. I can’t even blame the Co-codamol 30/500’s as I’ve been trying to lay off them.
THOMTHETHIM FOR OSCAR OK – Thanks for the considered response.
People are making the place out to be like Aleppo on a bad day.
I see normality.
Anyway – Nobody is allowed to go, that’s alright, fair enough.
The thing that baffles me is still the fixture switch nonsense.
Celtic supporters won’t be there on 11th, 12th or 14th, because of alleged safety concerns.
If there are no Celtic supporters there on any of said dates – then who’s safety can the PSNI not guarantee?
It’s gotta be the safety of the players and officials, who else could it be?
So because Linfield and the PSNI cannot guarantee the safety of Celtic players and officials on 11th or 12th July – Celtic have to switch a fixture due to Linfield not being able to control their hyena elements whom wish to attend said game.
Nothing whatsoever to do with Celtic – NOT OUR PROBLEM.
And the cheek of them – for 28 years Linfield refused to play games at Cliftonville because the old RUC couldn’t guarantee their safety – and as a result, Cliftonville had to play all their home games at Windsor Park for 28 years.
HH.
Chrissie Hynde – ” I could have been a Pretender “
Cqn
I could have been a poster if it wasn’t for fecking adverts
Like the Plc cqn has sold out for cash
BT – Yer right chief.
Nobody is asking or expecting Celtic supporters to travel to here that week.
It’s the easiest thing in the world for us to get to Windsor Park though, a dander, like crossing the road.
Nothing to do with bravado.
Car showrooms and industrial estates.
Ask the cops or Linfield supporters or anybody.
Probably more difficult to get to Cliftonville ground from here, only one small flashpoint on the way – whereas Windsor there is nothing, until the ground.
The Celtic support is a friendly, peaceful bunch.
No issues, no problems, no worries.
Disappointed.
Ah well.
Laters.
“…I mean, what could possibly go wrong…………?”
what is the story on the young keeper, McAdams, who left to join the zombies? I thought he was quite well thought of.
