Midfield protection

930

While Neil Lennon’s mind will be more engaged with preparations for next season than SPL results between now and then he will be a bit alarmed at how porous his midfield has been recently. Celtic have been leaking goals at the back in an alarming manner but the cover from midfield has contributed most to the problem.

Injuries have been disruptive but it’s surprising that the team shape has not been maintained, irrespective of who is playing.

Feeling sick and dirty, more dead than alive

    I’m waiting for my man

Hey, white boy, what you doin’ uptown?

Hey, white boy, you chasin’ our women around?

Oh pardon me sir, it’s the furthest from my mind

I’m just lookin’ for a dear, dear friend of mine

    I’m waiting for my man

Here he comes, he’s all dressed in black

PR shoes and a big straw hat

He’s never early, he’s always late

First thing you learn is you always gotta wait

    I’m waiting for my man

Up to a Brownstone, up three flights of stairs

Everybody’s pinned you, but nobody cares

He’s got the works, gives you sweet taste

Ah then you gotta split because you got no time to waste

    I’m waiting for my man

I try not to think of that stadium because of the overwhelming nostalgia. First glimpse of the big floodlights on the walk to Parkhead. Somehow, from a distance, they looked better in the rain when they were switched on. Walking down from the Garngad direction meant you saw them early and they came and went.

It was only when I left Glasgow that I realised how unique they were.

I often wonder what effect they had on the huns as they approached Parkhead..

  3. Mags @ 00:45

    Bit harsh there amigo.

There are many of us, to put it mildly, disillusioned with modern Scotland, not just as Celtic Supporters, but as Celts (or Picts, however far back you choose to go). Personally, I respect both positions. Sometimes I’m reminded that I love Scotland, next day I feel disgusted again. We have huns. They rule the roost.

Surely such emotions are worthy of some empathy?? :))

I believe Celtic and its raison d’etre is a beautiful thing. Jock stein will go down as the angel gabriel. However, how will the bored pay for their big noo hooses, noo driveways, noo cars and keep the donut’s hobby ticking over as he waits to become the emerald providing genie ass of the EPL? I’ll tell you how..Hunfunding subsidies in the dawn of the new firm.

  5. Mags @ 01:49

In total agreement with you there – and I never used to be.

I wonder if we’re due any council funding for the CT development.

At one time his parents, his elders, his intellectual superiors, the king, the pope and all said to Copernicus:

“Copernicus, when are you going to come to terms with the fact that the world does not revolve around you?

This old couple are having trouble remembering things, so they sign up for a memory course.

The course is wonderful and introduces them to a technique called word/name association.

    A CQN favourite

They come home and tell all their relatives, friends, and neighbors about it. Some months later, a neighbor approaches the man as he tends the garden.

“Say, Jim, what was the name of the instructor of that memory course you liked so much?”

“Well, it was…hmmm…let me think a minute… What’s the name of that flower, you know, the one that smells so nice, but has thorns on the stems…?”

    “You mean a rose?”

“Yeah, that’s it…(shouting toward house) Hey, Rose, what was the memory course instructor’s name?”

    Well said.

Alternatively, we must have a register of the political views of coaches of all teams, just to make sure they conform to the Milliband standard.

With respect, you are allowed in a democratic society to criticise those who are inherently opposed to fascism.

In a fascist society,I would not be allowed to criticise fascism.

IMO,that is why so many people have strong feelings on the subject.

    Absolutely agree.

    You say:

“In a fascist society,I would not be allowed to criticise fascism.”

    True.

And in a communist country, you would not be allowed to criticise communism.

    See Cuba`s white ladies.

Or Venezuela, where the late Chavez closed down the opposition media.

    That`s my point.

Fascism is communism,by whatever name it chooses to call itself.

Why is the swastika unacceptable while the hammer and sickle is not?

Who could be unaware of the fact that Stalin slaughtered more than Hitler?

Interesting to see fholks defending the right to be fascist.

Although communism denied the same right, at least it was based on equality, albeit abused by fascists. Fascism by its own standards, denies any such right to political criticism or vox populi, and as such can not be offered any kind of defence within its own legality. Crucial difference.

I take your point, but you are nevertheless defending those who hold fascist opinions, while playing whataboutery by suggesting that anyone opposing those opinions will be ok with communist views.

    F.F.M.

    Totalitarianism is the word.

    Communism and fascism are examples.

I happen to feel they are the same thing.

Nazi: the national socialist workers party.

Both claimed to be in the interests of workers and equality.

    Crucial difference? Surely not.

How many examples do you want of repression of criticism in communist countries?

Human rights? The right to vote. The right to vote fascist if you wish. The right to vote for Sharia Law,if you wish.Or communist.

Now where was that permitted in a communist country or a fascist country?

South Africans have gained the right to vote, but not Cubans.

    Cheers,my fellow Tim.

    Sorry.

    I haven`t made myself clear.

I defend the RIGHT of anyone to hold whatever political views they choose.

Whether I agree with their views or not is completely irrelevant ,as are my political views.
