I get that football thrives where it is a manifestation of tribalism. Across Europe and beyond club flags offer people more affinity with than any national emblem.
But, with one or two exceptions, it’s a largely innocuous brand. We get to wear tribal garb and indulge in our rituals without onerous economic consequence. The echo from the Great Recession, which we are still hearing today, has been a lesson in what can happen when a tribe perceives that its relative position has diminished.
That perception often bears absolutely no relation to reality, but widespread economic illiteracy makes us look like a primitive animals.

Really important story that could affect all transfer dealings going forward.
Benfica signed Lindelof from a small Swedish side for a fee of 60,000 euros. The understanding was that after 10 starts there would be a 250,000 add-on.
Benfica believe that the agreement is void because Lindelof signed a new deal with them in 2015. Not only that, the Swedish side would miss out on their cut of a future transfer fee (Benfica were on the verge of selling him for MILLIONS to the EPL)

I have not seen anybody on here celebrating Trumps win.
I have seen many observations about the result and the fact that Clinton’ s mass celebrity and huge financial disparity was not enough to sway enough people in the USA.
Who’s fault is that?
Personally I feel the choice the American people had was pathetic, but as a great believer in the will of the people I respect their decision. History will be the judge of Trump.
I will also be observing if The list of celebrities like Cher, Miley Cyrus, Samuel L Jackson, Barbara Streisand et al will carry out their threat to pack their bags.
I also hope that our politicians see the trends and actually talk with the ordinary working class people and not talk down to them.
Anyway no matter their result, I will still maintain my ST and attend Paradise as often as I physically can

Butcher did come out with those comments. When he joined the Ibrox club he immersed himself in their kulture. However once he left and was surrounded by normal human beings he realised the error of his ways and spoke out.
Graeme Roberts never seen the light and was beside Andy Goram in the queue when brains were handed out.
