Sevco’s sums

464

We got sight of a couple of interesting stats in the last 24 hours.  Sevco released their proposed season ticket prices for this season – £258 for adults.  The Herald today told us they have sold 450 tickets, which would generate £116k.

For every 10,000 full price adult tickets Sevco sell they can expect an income of £2.58m.  40,000 sales would bring in just over £10m.

The cost Rangers faced to run a football club at Ibrox, before employing any staff whatsoever, has varied in recent seasons, but not dipped below £16m.  On top of this Rangers employed around 200 non-playing staff plus dozens of players.

You see the size of the funding challenge Sevco face, made all the more difficult by what appears to be an almost weekly appearance of a distraction in the form of other parties wanting them to relinquish control.  It’s almost as though the universe is conspiring to starve them of income. Their issues with the SFA will grab current headlines, but if these are resolved far greater challenges lie ahead.

Fans of all Scottish clubs are invited to contribute their thoughts on a variety of subjects, including policing, stewarding, the media, offensive chanting, and are asked for ideas to improve the supporter experience.

I have spoken to the researcher tasked with getting a perspective on this and he is keen to hear from as many Celtic fans as possible.  It will take you around three minutes to complete the online survey, which you can do from here.

    Everyone going tonight ?

Think it could be a good game and hopefully the team will produce the type of performance to bolster confidence and disappoint the Lap-top-Loyal.

Would like the moaners to keep quiet this season.

  3. BSR – Enjoy.

I’m off to the vieux Cote D’Azur next week where I hope to grab a quick pint with Our Hero, Craigy Whyte. It will be interesting to see who gets the first drink in…..

  4. TUPE = Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment). Note the word transfer. Sevco is a different company/club from the dying Rangers and is only buying assets. History is not a transferrable asset and SEVco are not Rangers no matter what they say or hope to be called, no matter how much the hun-supporting MSM try to spin things and keep referring to Sevco as Rangers, they have now seem to have dropped the term newco.

My humblest apologies for refering to you as, well, someone else! It’s the heat, and the anticipation of tonights glamour ‘friendly’ against that club who used to be managed by Paul Lambert! It WILL NOT happen again!

Further to Charles Green’s claims on RangersTV earlier, SFA have told STV that Stewart Regan has no scheduled meeting with Green today

  10. Two hours before I meet my mate and have a few pints before heading to the game. Looking forward to it.

  12. Green tells more lies than Craigy Bhoy!

Maybe he is squeezing the meeting in between meeting Doncaster who is London and UEFA in Zurich. Not forgetting a quick dash to Greece to get a ‘Glamour Friendly’ set up.

Stupid huns have still not caught on to the fact they will not be playing any football next season…

  13. Former Sunderland loanee John Mensah is set to join Celtic, according to reports in his homeland Ghana.

The 29-year-old centre-back is a free agent after leaving French side Lyon, for whom he made just one league appearance last season.

Reports in Ghana suggest Bordeaux and Trabzonspor are also interested in Mensah.

But the much-travelled Ghanaian, who has made more appearances for his country than for any one club, insists he is in no rush to commit his future.

“I am not in a hurry to sign for any team,” he said.

“I have to think and make a choice, the right choice.

“Celtic? They have a great history and have the greatest fans in the world, so they are appealing to any player.

“Like I said, there are many teams calling but I am relaxed and not in a hurry.”

    No worries!

What is in name, a rose by any other name would smell just as sweet!

TBH the reason for the name is that “Titanium” by David Guetta and Jessie J has been in the charts so long it has burned into my subconcious.

In the car when it comes on I just got to singing “I am Tim Tanium” and thought it would make a nice change of moniker. Annoys the hell out of my son. (Which is a good thing).

  16. Congrats to Philip Tartaglia. I used to live up the close from Philip when we lived off Alexandra Parade. He used to be a thug on the football pitch if I remember correctly :)

  20. One would have thought that with the Italian diaspora that arrived from Italy in Scotland, that we would have had more Scots-Italians coming through the ranks at CP over the years. However apart from Luigi Macari there has been precious few that have made the grade.

Philip was too old for me to have played with. His brother Gerry was a goalkeeper, I remember. At least they are a football family. No harm to Archbishop Conti, but he won’t even be a lurker on CQN.
