Anthony Stokes is in the best form of his Celtic career at the moment, arguably the best form of his life if you overlook his stunning cameo at Falkirk. It’s hard to know if this is related to no longer being in the shadow of a more favoured son, or if Anthony has just got his ‘stuff’ together, but his intervention was absolutely crucial in our only Champions League win so far. He had all the wisdom necessary to bate an opponent into a clumsy foul.
The psychology of a three year contract, worth more money, before performance bonuses, than the player will be able to spend is not always a good thing for a footballer, but the competition for a starting berth up front for Celtic is acute. On the back of his winning goal on Sunday Amido Balde has been talking about his ambitions to secure a regular place, Teemu Pukki is guaranteed nothing while Georgios Samaras has been used regularly as a striker. Anthony will remain under pressure to perform.
All of this competition will come into sharp focus in Amsterdam next week. Celtic will come under pressure for most of the game, but this is something they are comfortable with. We will need someone to exploit the openings Ajax will leave in their defence. Put your money on Anthony for the George McCluskey role.

Thank you for your considered reply and for your respect of my stance.
It’s a horrible decision to make for any Tim but I fully understand any Celtic supporter who decides not to attend.

Is it nonsense ?
You’ve only mentioned socialists and people who want to sing folk songs or people who board bash when you talk about the resolution, you have never talked about the resolution itself, now forgive me if I’ve missed a bit but I’m always happy to be corrected, do you support the resolution ?

I think I met you again in the mid 80s on the Methil Celtic bus?
Under 20 youth cup update thanks to cweltic twitter
Full time: Celtic 4-0 Stenhousemuir. Goals from Herron, George, McMullan and Lindsay secure the Hoops’ place in the next round.
Bhoys, thanks for comments and prayers for Big Rab.
I believe we are only about 3 or 4 days away from 32 years ago, and my early memories of Rab and I, first away day or 2, as teenagers following Celtic.
Allan Hunter testimonial in Ipswich, what a visit that was, floodlight failure at halftime, with some great entertainment on the pitch, and Doc’s auld da, then issueing the Berry’s to us.
Things like that will stay with me and Big Rab.
Hail Hail
Evening all. Just watched the bulk of the Hibs v Hearts game. If Hibs were dirtier against us, then they must have been dire. I thought Collum handled things fairly well. He could have sent a few of them off. Some of those 2 footed tackles were awful. Once Hibs lost the goal, they lost control.
57,
Aye sorry,
Probably best with BT or Virgin if its available.
Celtic will play St Johnstone, away, in the next round of the Scottish Youth Cup.

You know I respect all Celtic fans, especially away day fans who are the lifeblood of Celtic.
Even our hairy mary quite contrary trolls that post, generally in the opposite of popular opinion, are entitled to their say, to demonstrate how much they love Celtic.
We both know our Celtic credentials well, uber wasn’t meant in a derogatory term, and I wouldn’t advocate or campaign for an organised boycott, and recognise instantly that, unanimity, in terms of boycotting a Celtic game, is well nigh impossible, as history has proved.
In the unlikely event CFC called for a boycott, it still wouldn’t be unanimous, I’m privileged to support Celtic with a season ticket, for decades. But I chose not to contribute to cheats even before they were confirmed as cheats but I say in capitals, should we get there, it would be a good one to boycott.
Away day fans are in a small minority especially when we include fireside fusiliers, and armchair sabre rattlers, who’ve barely seen a home game despite some of them even sharing the same Kerrydale St, postcode.
I go to semi’s in ‘neutral’ Hampden, it’s disgusting that both semi finals are scheduled for Ibrokes, the final should also be in Murrayfield.
I’ve boycotted Ibrokes – permanently, through a passion for Celtic.

Well stop trying to noise up people then :oD))

Is that an aye or a naw :-)
If Celtic play a semi at the Asbestosdome I wonder how much we will be charged to repair the “damage” caused by fans… I’m sure they will be able to find a few broken seats….

Decent shout.
Meelan 1 up v Lazio-Kaka and you can switch off SSN for a few days as Bale has just scored for RM
Vacancy at Easter Rd. for managerial position. Ability to work under pressure, and with under-achieving, over-rated and overpaid but compliant and submissive squad essential. Ability to spot, develop and nurture future talent not neccessary, as Fanniboz Nicholl will advise on which Sevco youngsters to buy on very generous contracts.
Bye bye Pat.

My take on the cup final semi controversy. One semi at CP one at Ayebrokes toss up for venue if we happen to be drawn together. Final at whoever’s ground loses the semi. Or alternatively do what the English Fa did and take the final out of the country Cardiff or Dublin?
On tonight’s game – sorry for wee Pat and the Hibs fans. He is a big Celtic fan and really does know the history.
