Weeoscar4life Glasgow quiz night

893

The good people running the weeoscar4life campaign have been in touch and asked me to pass on information regarding the appeal and forthcoming quiz night in Glasgow later this month:

“As many of you will be aware the weeoscar4life campaign team have recently been involved in raising the profile of a wee 3 year old boy from Belfast called Oscar. Many of you have kindly supported this initiative by purchasing CQN badges and wee Oscar wristbands and taking part in the “Small Change for US, Big Change for Oscar campaign”, with the money raised all going towards getting Oscar the treatment that he so desperately needs.

The next event that we have organised to help raise the £250,000 required for Oscar’s treatment is a quiz night. This will take place on the 29th September in The Phoenix (Previously Eastenders) on the Gallowgate with a 7pm start.

The quiz will be made up of a variety of questions, 50% Celtic related and 50% general knowledge. There will be raffle prizes and we also hope to have some live music after the quiz has finished.

Tickets are priced at £5 and you can buy as many as you wish for friends and family so long as they are over 18. Don’t worry if you aren’t able to make up a team of 4/5 as we will arrange you into teams before the event. We hope to be able to offer a ‘print at home’ ticket service so that you would be able to simply bring your tickets on the night.

Until then if you can contact us at weeoscar4life@gmail.com then Wecan begin to allocate spaces to those who have expressed an interest.

Thank you once again for your continued support.”

It is sure to be a fantastic night so please book early.

You can continue to read CQN Magazine FOR FREE, or can subscribe for £10 or £20 and our sponsor, Executive Shaving, who offer an enormous range of grooming products, are offering readers a £20 voucher for all £30 CQN Magazine subscribers.

    TET,

anybody suspected of cheating the big ludge will be hounded, d&p are putting themselve right in the firing line, and if found to be part of the fraud, all their transactions will be voided, thats where we are at the moment. This is the crucial stage IMO, if the bif ludge relents here, a deal has been done.

    Don’t have a clue.

They are fair I thought, they are slagging both of them, but I must admit, I wouldn’t be too much of a fan of anything but the beautifull game.

  4. Thanks Bada

I’m a civvie so there’s no the excitement that the fireys get but its a stable job. I think I’m gonna apply for wholetime firefighter tho. There are spaces going internally. My brother also retires from the Calton next March so would like the family connection to remain for just a bit longer.

  5. DJBEE , thoughts with you (and DBBIA and Jobo) – still got both parents but lost gran (Da’s Maw) 20 years ago this week . Funny how the mind takes you back to ‘snap-shot’ moments and smiles . Today’s thought , courtesy of Arranmore , involved Grans hearse (a Datsun(?) cherry estate with the back seats folded down) trundling down the furrows to stop at each house , to pay respects , with the rest of us following behind on foot.

Car stops at my Uncle Charlies and cousin (who’s slept in) thinks she’s getting a lift and tries to get in the passenger door , only to see grannie lying there . Times like that , it’s difficult to be sad and NOT to laugh .

What’s the end game here ???

There is no chance of any big wigs going to jail, there may be a couple of court cases, but jail time, I doubt it.

If the tribunal finds against them, minty might have his gong taken away, but unless he has pissed off the brotherhood big time, he will not go to jail, nor will any others of any note, in saying that, I got an e-mail from a goat person saying that minty isn’t the flavour of the month, but he would be a scottish goat, so, how much influence he has outwith goatland is debatable.

Duff and Phelps, who gives a toss about them, they will get a slap and that will be it.

The main fraudsters will get away with it, trust me on that, you can see that for yourself, the laws are NOT being applied, why would that be then.

What is the end game ?

What do we want, I know what I want, but that will never happen.

As you say, the ludge is in full swing here, the courts and the government are controled by the ludges, nothing to see here Timmy, move along now.

Anything more and I will be flabergasted, I will stake my life on that.

  7. Whereabouts were you Bada. We will defo know some of the same folk. Tony Shepherd went back on the run a coupla months ago, Fire safety obviously too boring for him. I’m on the modules with his replacement right now.

  8. enjoy your retirement Bada you have earned it. bro-in-law still active. He was in Clydebank but a few years ago moved local to Milngavie nearly 30 years in job. Imo most under valued guys out there. Hat duly doffed sir.
