And so it begins

478

And do it begins.  For years we were subject to ‘Martin O’Neill leaving’ stories, as everyone from local pundits to Tory Party leaders wanted him to move south  Now they want Brendan to leave his beloved Celtic.

This is the reality of success, the alternative is anonymous failure.

I don’t know Brendan’s inner thoughts, but I know he invokes plans for years ahead at the club when taking to his employer. He may or may not be settled in Scotland, but he sounds it.

  1. To be fair I don’t St Johnstone’s performance is a matter of allegiance – more to do with an old school “get it up the park” manager having been found out this season…and thank eff for that too…

  2. 3-0. The SJ keeper’s efforts at goals 1 and 3 highly questionable. He’s just tried to chuck in a 4th.

Tommy Wright has abandoned his we’ll defend deep and kick the s*** out of them approach seen at CP, for a high press and wide open defence this evening.

We don’t need any help from any other pile of SPFL shite so don’t bother looking for it. Unfortunately , even the teams you would think had top 6 aspirations are so pathetic that Sevco only need a reasonably consistent referee assisted run to finish second. It’s up to us to make sure it’s a very distant second.

Then , it’s over to the Neiderkorn’s of this world to show Sevco that life is much more difficult outside of their own league and without their own referees.

  4. St Johnstone attacking there with 6 men ahead of the ball, something they would never do against Celtic.

  5. What is the Stars on

    Greenpinata

    They have improved. No doubt

And they will be full confidence and desire when we play them

  6. Is there a taxi waiting outside the ground to take moreorless to the airport for his flight to China.

Or maybe just China Gardens takeaway

  7. Jobo,

they are indeed ,more results like this and we wont

be able to rely on our goal difference as a saver ;-)))

  8. Huns 3-0 up on a very passive StJohnstone team.

Goss scores a decent free for the third as the wall stood rooted.Davidson had won the ball but was booked and foul given.

Considering the amount of genuine fouls he had without caution at Celtic park he must know the rules are different.

The snarling ,pulling and kicking team we witnessed at Celtic park have not played tonight.

Huns main tactic is the long ball behind defenders forcing them to turn.

They don’t play much passing and defensively are shaky .

I know we are a possession team but wish we would play more long diagonals behind defenses for Sinclair and JF to run on to as it stretches opponents and would make teams renitent to press high.

  9. I really cannot say, based on what I have seen tonight, if Sevco have improved. St Johnstone are so open and poor it is hard to judge.

  10. What’s very noticeable about Kilmarnock is that they really struggle to pass to each other on a grass pitch. But what they lack in ability they make up for in kick-and-rushity…

  11. The Huns have improved without a doubt. How good they are remains to be seen. One thing is for sure, they are playing against a totally different SJ to the team we faced 9 days ago.

Zombies are better, i don’t think that’s beyond dispute, but there is no pressure on them….yet. they have still to win a trophy, they had a chance 2 years back and bottled it big time. Sunday 11th March is the big question day in many respects for them. Win and they will see it as a sign that they have arrived, lose and it will fall apart as quickly as it started. There is no middle ground with that lot.

  13. Kane should have seen red for that stupid kick. Of course, at 0-3 it would not have served any real purpose .I think he would have gone had the score been 0-0 !

Been a while since I last saw that mob playing, improved yes, a threat to us no. Scored with their first two adventures into the ST box and the third was never a free kick. No sympathy to the rest of the league they have improved by attaining players they can’t afford and the rest of the league say nothing. He’ll mend them.

  15. St Johnstone must be on a win bonus. I’ve seldom seen any Scottish midfield jogging back in to defensive positions against us in the way they have this evening.

I’m just paranoid and obsessed though

” I know we are a possession team but wish we would play more long diagonals behind defenses for Sinclair and JF to run on to ”

Trouble is,Fan, we don`t get that space. Teams set up differently against us ( and for good reason ).

  17. GREENPINATA-6:36pm regarding BR,we were on a wee mini cruise with my wife’s sister and brother in law just after BR signed up.Four days of get a ST:-)) it’s going to be brilliant:-)))

well, it was nice while it lasted, suppose a 6IAR will do me and in a way I’m relieved the natural order is restored and Scottish football can be strong and proud again.

    (lowest form of wit).

  19. Guys,

On another day St J could have been down to 9 men.

Although we may be dismissal on here, it’s comforting to know BR et al won’t show such complacency.

Pre warned is pretty armed and we will be fully prepared for them. Of that I have no doubt.

  20. HOT SMOKED

You do not need space to play the occasional long diagonal.

I have said on here before at first Dortmund v Real game in Champions league that real were struggling with their passing game until Zidane pushed Ronaldo onto last defender and started playing long balls behind defender.

Dortmund had to adjust and it created more space and suddenly the Real passing game flourished and they won easily.

  21. Pedro Cashbox was a complete nut job, any manager coming in could have improved the huns Pedro’s plodders were one of the worst hun teams I’ve ever seen, devastated he got his P45:))

They’re still shite at the back and we should hump them but we will need to keep the back door locked and not give them a punchers chance…

They’re also soft a baby poop in the middle of the park and we should run over the top of them, unleash Big Ole, Broony and EK on them..

    No quarter…

  22. STARRY PLOUGH-you know my big cus and your connected to wee eck,:-)))middle class my arse:-)))

  23. Let’s not be as bad as the Huns . Sevco have improved a whole lot . The celtic we watched last year would still skelp them , unfortunately haven’t seen that team very often this term . They will be a threat in two weeks .
