    We didn’t get “pumped”.

     

     

    We lost the first leg in what was his first-ever game, turned it around comfortably in the second leg, made it to the CL groups and went unbeaten in all three domestic trophies that season.

    Where we are just now all stemmed from May 2019 in the Hampden showers.

     

    We downsized massively from Rodgers to Lennon, like going from a Ferrari to a Cinqecento.

     

    All because our CEO/unofficial DOF was called out publicly numerous times by Rodgers.

     

    Lawwell, rather than going for the best available candidate, someone who was totally professional and up to date with the modern game, went with a dinosaur, Lennon, who said previously “I’m not big on tactics. It’s about the players and THEY have to go out onto the pitch and apply that.”

     

    All so that he wouldn’t be called out for his ineptitude in the job.

     

    Oue CEO, the highest paid in British football last year, confirmed he never even looked at applications to succeed Lawwell.

     

    The ultimate cronyism.

     

    Yet we laugh at the sevco board!

     

    Lennon would never be in a position to rock the boat.

     

    He doesn’t carry the managerial reputation of Rodgers.

     

    What makes it worse is that we accepted it.

     

    Now we are 18 months further on from Hampden in the showers, and some people on here will still back Lawwell.

     

    I’ve read derogatory comments on the ‘cult of the SNP’, we have similar in our support who blindly follow the ‘cult of Lawwell’.

     

    We have to change the manager and coaches, but this has been obvious for awhile.

     

    Why wait till we have lost the league?

     

    However getting rid of the puppeteer who picked Lennon has to happen in order to really move forward.

    We are currently sleepwalking into a domestic crisis .

     

    We all know it but that celtic faith in your soul keeps you positive.

     

    A win at motherwell on sunday will be nothing more than a stay of execution for our manager.

     

    This team are falling apart right in front of our eyes.

     

    For my money a short sharp shock in the form of a new complete management team is about our only hope.

     

    Heck I would take any high energy coach who knows his tactics other than Lenny right now because he appears bogged down and beaten.

     

    Wether the players have let him down or he has let them down is debateable.

     

    But this team aint right on so many levels.

     

    Can only be cured by changing the manager and please DO NOT put John Kennedy IN CHARGE because I have a feeling he might be part of the problem.

     

    I would sack the both of them [lenny and kennedy]tommorow and install Gordan Strachan [manager],Scott Brown [assistant] and Gavin strachan [coach] can stay for some continunity…….long term i would be looking for a new start with a new manager next season.

    At this moment in time… Players values are plummeting…. This more than anything may trigger something….. Sunday is absolutely massive

    Inquisitov – can’t disagree. I think a properly organised celtic with the players we have will batter sevco. But we are not that and that is the problem.

     

     

    I’m afraid players rule the roost these days. When a manager loses their respect or whatever then he us beat.

    At this stage it isn’t a risk. We’ve nothing to lose. Players checking the mobiles at 1-3 down !

     

     

    We will not win ten in a row with Lenny. That hurts but I’d rather win it all the same. Neil shouldn’t be allowed to take the house down with him.

    Christie – trying to cover all midfield

     

    Edouard – chucked it

     

    McGregor – playing out of position for 2 years. Worst tackler of all time

     

    Rogic – just back and doing his job

     

    Laxalt – brilliant but not our player

     

    Frimpong – doing what he does but no grown ups looking after him

     

     

    Cruisers

     

     

    Ntcham – great player but chucked it ( see edouard)

     

    Moi – great goals but feathering his bed (see phone action)

     

    Brown – same slightly negative impact for 10 out of 12 years

     

    Griffiths – great player once but checks in when he feels like it

     

    AJer – believes his own hype

     

     

    Pish

     

     

    El Hamed – showed it at Hampden for Israel but jogs for us

     

    Bitton – gutless in midfield or CB

     

    Duffy – he really is an Irish Colin Hendry. The TA fell for that when I said he was pish ( was derided for that)

    Lennon ,Kennedy And Gordon’s wee boy,and we wonder why the players are not motivated,.Ask the French Bhoys about their coaching system through the French system and the y will laugh at us ,

     

    We have no coaching no system and we wonder how a team with 50% of their first team absent canmakeuslook like amateurs ,the answer is easy ,

    I’ve never said BR’s Euro record was “all that” and any club from Scotland would struggle to make a serious dent in Europe.

     

     

    My point was, he was at least getting us to the Champions League group stage and it’s unfair to compare EL results against CL results. If Lennon ever gets us there, we can have a fair comparison.

     

     

    I mean in this stint….not too worried about what Lennon did a decade ago…..and for the record BR’s Leicester are currently strolling their EL group.

    We have £17m worth of strikers…plus LG. I think any half decent manager will be able to come in and beat our domestic opponents (Sevco another kettle of fish). Europe is gone now, so no pressure there.

     

     

    But please can we stop pretending that we have to keep Neil as he, and he alone, can lead us to tortured victories over SPFL dross? Its just nonsense.

     

     

    Eddie Howe would be my choice but he will command decent wages and has a bit of stature (read: leverage), so two negatives for Pedro.

    We take pride in our club and our european history.

     

    It means far more to me than 10 in a row ever will.

     

    However I am realistic.I know our place in the current european football table.

     

    I can handle being also rans but dream of glory all the same.

     

    I can handle defeats and there have been many in the last few years at celtic park.

     

    But when you are getting ragged rotten by Sparta Prague with [seven first team players out]?

     

    Unacceptable on all levels and if Lenny survives this [which he probably will] we will get everything we deserve this season.

     

    The other team in glasgow are far too good for us this season and we all know it.

     

    The only slender hope we have is a change in manager and hopefully a rebirth for this pathetic underperforming team of frauds.

    GB, and I initially wasnt comparing NFL, BR against each other or even looking at their records in isolation. Was just pointing out that for me at any rate losing to LIncoln Red Imps was as big a humiliation as the pumpings by the likes of PSG, Barcelona etc.

     

     

    And for the record, I dont follow Leicester or BR.

     

    What he does there wont affect his euro record at Celtic and wont make me forget getting beaten by a team from Gibraltar.

     

     

    And it wont make me forget the Invincible season or the Humpings of the Hun either ;-)

    Leicester “pumped” Braga 4-0 tonight having pumped in-form Leeds 4-1 at the weekend. They have beaten Arsenal away and thumped Man City 2-5 away.

     

    Yet people on here continue to question BR’s managerial ability.

     

    Get real. He dumped us, sure. But he is a top, top football manager.

    Bada,with more countries going into lockdown i would hope that next weeks internationals are postponed.it is the only logic that can be applied

    D Duff said Kennedy is by far the best coach we have at Celtic – after being robbed of his football playing career, maybe the writing is on the wall to deliver the 10! a bit too romantic but cant be worse than current situ.
