I’ve never known Celtic to subsidise an away match ticket before. Put aside for a second thoughts of thanking the fans for their support during a difficult period (which are valid), I like this move for the message it sends to those in the dressing room, as well as the stands.
We are in a league race, and we want to win it. You can understand Aberdeen’s razor-sharp appetite. They’ve not won the league in over 30 years, every man, woman and child in their ranks will be forgiving of faults and profuse in praise.
By contrast, this will be our five-in-a-row, the 11th title in 16 years. It will never come close to what we experienced in 1998, when we worshipped the words of Wim Jansen after a late-season home draw against soon-to-be-relegated Hibs.
For many of us, 1998 was our Celtic supporting high point – it meant that much. Hopefully we will never again be in a place where a domestic title has such importance. Instead we need to find techniques to deliver that edge, to remind us of the importance of getting it right in every league season.
I refer to that Hibs game in 1998 often, it felt like a pivotal moment. We were nip and tuck for the title, what would have been an historic 10-in-a-row title, one which would have violated one of Jock Stein’s teams’ records. That day, it felt like the chance was slipping, but there would be no let-up. We bundled our nerves together and moved on.
Telling the world that the club is subsidising fans’ ticket costs is one technique to help deliver a little bit of that focus. Let’s hit the plastic running on Saturday.

George Galloway shared a platform with Farage.
Mr Pastry
I dont vote.
When i did, i voted Labour.
But after reading you bs on CQN.
I will definitely vote SNP, if it means shutting clowns like you up.
You have no idea whatsoever, how annoying, and insulting you are.
And to make things worse, your brand of political ideology….comes straight from the son of the manse….Gordon Brown, and his ilk.
Charlatans.
Like yourself.
You know nothing about politics.
If you did, you wouldnt be such a fecking dinosaur
Mr Pasty
What has your 11.39 post got to do with Celtic?
Thank you Ard Macha
MR PASTRY in hilarious call to vote Labour. But not yet cos he disnae like them leftie types in charge at the moment.
Aw ma sides.
Away and gie’s peace,ya eejit.
Mr Pastry
I imagine your ancestors from Mullingar and Sligo will be spinning in their graves at some of the tripe you have posted on here. You really are a disgrace!
Rock the Casbah playing on Radio X now. Is it a Cheltenham omen for today? :)
Are Macha
The diary is always a worthwhile, if humbling, read.
keep posting!
DD
I too have Rock the Casbah on my line today. Good luck to all Tims with their investments today.

Pasty
You are not a socialist, or a Labour man.
You give decent people a bad name….and thats exactly what your wee plan is.
I would say more than likely, that you are a TORY, of the IDS variety.
Petition signed and thanks to Ard Macha for posting those extracts. I had no idea what those young men endured or the dignity and bravery they showed throughout to their captors/torturers, so AM please keep posting, it’s very much appreciated
I am not anti-Mr Pastry as some appear to be but it does make me smile when he posts a non-Celtic post to ask about someone else`s non-Celtic post 0:-)

While I have no desire to be part of a Great Britain that leaves the EU, I also have no wish to see us Scots governed by a party which seems to me to have no real socialism in its heart and soul. Imo, the SNP have spent years pandering to middle Scotland, whose equivalent in England is the bedrock vote of the Tories. While I would want the Labour Party to be in Government, I can’t see that beginning to happen, because a truly left wing party will never be elected in England. Blair and Brown saw this and tried to appeal to middle England. It worked for a while but it won’t happen again. Where does that leave me? Longing for a new Independent Labour Party, whose forerunner my grandfather used to vote for.
Ard Macha
I know you wont listen to that halfwit anyway.
I can listen to the words of a brave man, every day of the week.
Keep posting.
Its important.

True, some very strange bedfellows on both sides.
I used to be undecided, but on reflection I’m not so sure now.

And the only way you’re ever likely to get a party like that in Government is in an independent Scotland, and even then I’d be surprised. There’s your conundrum.
You need the SNP in power because they’re the only ‘big’ party pushing Indy but there’s too many aspects of their policies you’re against.
Batsman
But none so strange as those who shared power in the north of Ireland.

If Pasty doesn’t mind, or even if he does, I will respond to your non-Celtic post.
The Labour Party was hijacked by Blair & Co to implement Thatcherite lite policies. Kinnock purged many socialists before heading to Brussels to secure sinecures for his family.
The politically aware footsoldiers who had done the leafleting and canvassing have left the party, leaving the streets to the undeniably enthusiastic SNP activists. The rise of the SNP is entirely the fault of the Lab leadership who are completely out of touch with what should be their core voters.
I believe that “middle class” Scots are more left leaning than their English counterparts. Most found Thatcher quite repulsive, whereas she was revered down South. Labour’s lurch to the right has alienated much of its support in Scotland who now vote SNP. Many potential Tory voters still can’t forget Thatcher and now vote SNP. The Nats haven’t had to do much. They have, in the main, avoided too many howlers and find themselves in a majority government. There is a significant minority for Independence who, combined with disaffected Lab and Tory voters, will ensure a continuing SNP Govt in Scotland.
Those who call the SNP tartan tories are partially correct but has the Labour party shown any leadership? How can a Blairite Labour supporter call anyone a tory? The crew who completed the deregulation of the finance sector have the gall to criticise the SNP for not increasing Income Tax and Council Tax.
I agree that we need a new party of the Left, untainted by cronyism and open to debating the fairest way forward for all. The EU referendum is all about the Tory party and when the IN side wins, it will combust. The sad thing is that Labour will not be able to take advantage. Tough times ahead.
