The stock of corporate knowledge

349

We are all looking forward to big changes in the football department.  Players, manager, coaches and scouts will arrive at Lennoxtown in the coming months with the specific aim of improving the performance of the football department.

Such change brings risks, but just to the culture of the club, which is up for renewal every week and saw plenty of change in the autumn, but to the stock of corporate knowledge.  One of the failings of John Barnes short-lived experience was his failure to understand the risks when visiting places like Tannadice.  Some travel north thinking it will be all too easy, remember Joey Barton, who was nutmegged at Ibrox during a defeat to Hamilton Accies.

If today’s story on John Kennedy being promoted to work with Eddie Howe is true, he will add a couple of decade’s experience of how Scottish football works to the new management team.  I also hear Eddie was impressed by John.  Of course, sticking it to them on Sunday will not do any harm.

  1. Before leaving politics altogether- I have always said that we need to call out our own side for breaches if we are going to demand the opposing views cease their more childish retorts.

With that in mind, I am calling on ernie lynch to withdraw the slur on our poster, Alisdair McLean. While the defence of stereotyping about “humourless Presbyterianism” might stand and we are all guilty of it- applying it to a Celtic supporting man from the Highlands is a step way too far.

It was ugly, personal and unjustified and I am asking that ernie withdraw it unreservedly.

Says it all about the SNPcult – no opinions – no editorial – just a litany of waste, lies, cover-up & utter incompetence, hushed-up by the close-brethren that make up the SNPcult politburo.

Unusual for a Labour to have a Telegraph subscription. Wee slip up.

  3. John McGinn should stop talking about the “failed” transfer to Celtic.

He willingly signed for Villa- he chose that when he could have come here, however belated and grudging the offer was.

He came close to blaming Celtic supporters, or that portion that phoned the radio programmes to doubt his abiity, for chosing Villa over Celtic.

But I am sure the money offered and the glib assurance of first team football had something to do with the decision.

It was good to hear him talk up the old “dinosaur” and “failed coach”, Neil Lennon though

Was his post humourless, dour and po faced?

  6. Go tell the Spartim on

Some positive (except if your SydneyTim 😊) football news seems Forrest is available for Sunday.

  7. Nothing like being informed – I even read The National, it only takes 95 seconds, so fits in nicely whilst trimming the nose-hair.

For a moment there I thought Dortmund were interested in Shane Duffy.

‘Dortmund join the race for Brighton’s White’ read the headline.

Then I realised it said White.

SFTB- McGinn was obviously asked why he didn’t sign for Celtic, he gave an answer, Lawwell got his placemen to say he wanted guaranteed football, which we know is absolute bollox. Lawwell played the Celtic card, saying again through his sources, that we would wait till the January, and get him on a Bosman, sheer arrogant incompetence.

    He’ll no sogn noo lol.🤣

    its gone.

it went then .am sure youll agree.

not much we cant learn from now about it.that is not known.(will we ever know bout it now anyway)

it now is getting snidered,-packaged up in a nice little media bomblet to have a go by the handy brithers in the meeja and the gullible lackeys on here who never read it but believe every word for some odd reason.

    its gone.better signing you or i 😊

  11. Scotland with the lowest population density in the UK has the worst Covid infection ratio at 1 in 640.

    England – 1 in 1000

    Wales – 1 in 1570

    NI – 1 in 940

These figures are startling – what is going wrong in Scotland?

  12. The Celtic team for Ibrox is not very hard to predict.

Bain Ajer and Welsh are certainties if fit

Brown, McGregor, Turnbull and Eddie are certainties too, if uninjured.

Greg Taylor has earned the right to supplant Diego Laxalt at LB even though he ahs not nailed down next season as a starter.

JJ Kenny probably gets RB by default of Tony Ralston not providing much of a challenge

So that leaves, Christie or Forrest on the right of the diamond (unless Sorogets to stiffen the defence- unlikely given previous selections) and Griff or Mo Elyonoussi supporting Eddy.

I suspect it will be Christie for his tireless running at the start with Jamesie being an impact sub and Mo rather than Griff because we need a crowded midfield to stifle their build up.

Griff, like Jamesie, can be brought on for the final quarter if things are going to plan or earlier if we are suffering again.

It is a dead rubber with only pride at stake but pride is important as is sowing some doubt in their triumphalist minds.

  13. Paddy Power have a special bet for the Ibrox match:

“How many chances will Edouard miss inside the six yard box” – I have a fiver on three @ 7/4.

John McGinn is not Lawell’s placeman. It was John McGinn who stated that the Villa manager’s evaluation of him as a first team contender was the reason he signed. It was a spurious cover story but it was not of PL’s making. The manager, Steve Bruce got sacked shortly after John joined anyway but he knows any coach guaranteeing you first team football is lying.

    I beg to differ.

It was both humourless and snide.

    Pointlessly so.

But don’t fret, I will recover.

  16. John McGinn also seemed to imply in the article that there was no bid from Celtic, or if there was it didn’t matter as he only wanted to sign for Villa once he was given the tour

  17. Everyone knows that Lawwell is to blame for what happened with McGinn.

What I don’t understand is why P67 wrote propaganda pieces for Lawwell actually defending his major role in what happened.

Especially as Lawwell is a compulsive liar, see Auldheids many contributions where he explains just how much of a liar he is.

  18. McGinn was lost through procrastination, complacency and arrogance.

But that’s all irrelevant now and not worth discussing because it’s water under the bridge.

Meanwhile the club, facing an enormous rebuild, has been without a manager since February.

You are a true Labour man. You think it’s fine for the US, supported by the UK, to invade countries thousands of miles away and kill millions of people to “save” them from communism. You should be in favour of nuking Cuba, Vietnam and China. You confirm my contempt for the Labour Party.

    True.

What it shows is how badly our club was run by the CEO, and was the beginning of Rodgers realising that he wouldn’t be hanging around when the club having posted record turnover, with the accounts showing nearly 30 million in the black, seen our club having the incompetent accountant mess up transfer negotiations.

  22. Just want to offer support to Alasdair MacLean by stating the poster logged in as Ernie Lynch stepped well over the line with his comments to you. I agree it said more about him than and the type of person he is than anything else.

You might find a better level of chat, better atmosphere and some familiar monikers on sentinelcelts.

I wouldn’t blame you if you no longer felt comfortable on this site.

It seems like they’re a tag team out to destroy what’s left of CQN .

  23. For Paul 67 to talk about corporate items now is laughable. Peter lawell should of of been sacked many times for corporate failures in any normal business

He went from a team who played in a Uefa cup final to Laxalt Kenny at full backs

Tend to watch a Celtic state of mind now who don’t tend to like or take lamb that is succulent

How Paul 67 takes that succulent lamb is allegedly a well know fact now

    Ernie Lynch,

Your “joke” which I took exception to first this morning, I took, (perhaps mistakenly), as your having a sarcastic go at John McGinn for saying something stupid.

(Driving to the Faroes – when of course he didn’t say anything of the sort.)

Please accept my apologies for misinterpreting your joke.

I am a little sensitive to the “Presbyterian” jibe as I have spent a lot of my adult life trying to educate people away from prejudice: that Christian protestants should not be generally associated with the bigoted Orange Order or the ignorant, brainwashed haters that support the football club in Ibrox.

    I am not, however, a faint-hearted easily-offended person – and I don’t really care what you say.

Also, please don’t associate me erroneously with any political party or policy.

My stance for years now, perhaps unfairly on some, is I have no time for any of them – liars one and all.

it wasnt done the last time we came out of Lock Down and I dont think the Owners had any problems.

By that time ALL the Pubs will be reopened …well the ones that havent went bust.

Anyway, Im on very good terms with the management LOL.

Isn’t it strange that the two posters who insist on using the word cult in a pejorative sense refused to discuss a football issue i.e. the cult following inspired by the Holy Goalie or ‘Lets all do the Broonie’. I suppose the cult they prefer is the one embodied by Ernest himself with his casual sectarian remark.
