The manager of the team we beat in the semi is an utter haddie, Aberdeen seem to have an incredible belief in him which is stupid, they could have recruited better for sure both Clarke and Ross are better than who they have and they might have been able to get them, but that is their issue.

People in greenhouses shouldnt throw stones though, we have major major issues at the club now.

Barkas has the same defence in front of him FF had.

Does an iffy defence put uncertainty into the goalkeeper or does an iffy goalkeeper put uncertainty into the defence?

Has there ever been a manager who has taken their team to a cup final and been sacked prior to the game ?

Just curious, I genuinely don’t know the answer.

Good question. Wasn’t Van Gaal sacked by Man Yoo hours after winning the FA Cup?? Sarri got sacked just after winning the title for Juve too….

  4. Why, if we aren’t getting the best from our players across the team, shoud that NOT apply to Barkas?

New regime, settled team, growth in personal and team confidence, enjoying themselves again and we’ll see him (and others) transform.

The results were just as bad with Baim which suggests it is not the keeper that is necessarily the issue.

Furthermore, we put awful defensive/structural performances in last season with Forster in goal against Sevco x2 and Copenhagen (1.5 games), so even with a quality keeper issues persist.

  6. ROLLING_STONE on 4TH DECEMBER 2020 11:42 AM

True. It could also suggest that neither Barkas or Bain are of the required standard. Wasn’t Bain third choice last year?

  7. Hearts of Midlothian had over 100 Applicants for their Manager post, not so long ago,

& that’s a Club the size of Hearts. Point being, if Hearts can attract over 100 Applicants,

for their football Managerial Vacancy, then wee should attract even more, cause we

are a bigger Club. I don’t subscribe too Rod The Mod’s suggestion, that no one will touch

our Managerial position with a barge poll, rubbish Rod, you just stick too writing &

singing songs, our fellow Timaloy. I also don’t subscribe too, appointing Football Managers

with one hand tied behind their back, or complete “Yes Men” that does not work, nor is

it sensible either. As Jock Stein said to the Board a few Moons ago, just leave the Football

side of things, to me, no interference whatsoever, damn tooting Jock.

I’ve heard & read a lot of names, being thrown into the ring of suggestions, for example

    1) Eddie Howe, 2) Steve Clarke, 3) Mark Hughes, 4) Alex Neil, 5) Raphiel-B, etc-etc.

However, if our Club is really serious, about moving us forward instead of back the way, &

instead of being stuck in a rut, like we are @ present, like a fast Car, moving in Reverse, @

a fast pace back the way, then I would suggest that we should be, original, sensible &

adventures. One name/suggestion that springs to mind here as regards to said post,

would be Ralf Rangnick, who in my opinion, would & could move us forward, in the right

direction, that is for sure. If ones does proper research into Mr Ralf Rangnick, then one will

see that, he certainly does fit the bill so to speak, a very sensible selection indeed.

  8. Scrolling back, a few of the worthies seem a tad miffed.

We are where we are folks,

Pre Season the word was we would be selling, Eddie, Ajer, Christie,Ntcham.

We didn’t sell anybody, only player of note we lost was Forster and that wasn’t our fault.

We bought Ajeti, Barkas & Turnbull for circa 13 million and brought in expensive players on Loan, Elyounoussi, Duffy & Laxalt.

On paper we appeared to have done enough to win the ten, but the entire thing has blown up in our face,

In retrospection losing Forster was a disaster, in addition Brown & CalMac who carried us last year, seem to have run out of steam.

Only one of the 6 buy ins has made a mark & the confusion & disappointment has spread through the entire squad .

We have been hit with Bolingoli nonsense, 4 of our players contracting Covid, others forced to isolate, a pile of our players on International Breaks, injuries to Julien, Forrest, Griffiths & Eddie at different stages.

In other words a perfect shit storm.

The Final insult is whether we care to admit it or not the Huns have got it right this year & are currently motoring on all cylinders, their success so far is making our struggles even more apparent.

So that is where we are, we all react to adversity in different ways but one thing I do know is this period will pass and things will get better.

I thought last night there were signs of improvement, a win on Sunday if we get it will be another step forward. So just one game at a time till the January window, which is now one of the most critical windows ever.

  9. Barkas is Sutton’s latest (in a long line of) targets.

Before the guy scored the free kick they were telling us how good he was at taking them.

Then when he scores, our keeper is pish!

    Hail Hail.

    Hail Hail.

Fred, lets be honest here, both our Goalkeepers @ present, are pish.

  11. AKBW1888,

The ball went right into the corner of the net. Usually the keeper is not blamed when that happens.

Sutton never stopped till the end of the game.

    Hail Hail.

  12. CorkCelt

CorkCelt our fellow Timaloy, yeah we are were we are, that’s exceptance & negativity, always think positive,

not doom & gloom exceptance & negativity.

Last night was not that bad, are you sure about that, after we went 2-0 up, AC Milan scored four goals against us without reply, & that was them playing in second gear, nah rubbish & feeble, & a complete

shambles. Things will only get better, that remains to be seen, two wins out of the last twelve matches,

is pish statistics, that is for sure. We all need to take a reality check here.

  13. Fred C Dobbs.

Sutton never stopped till the end of the game.

    Hail Hail.

Yeah Hail Hail Fred, Barkas moving the wrong way, just before the said freekick was taken, & not

making an effort, to try & save said shot, does not look good, no wonder Chris Sutton is becoming

restless, with the rut we are in @ present, which is totally unacceptable, I don’t subscribe to the

Club’s narative, which they are saying @ present, they must think we are all fools, the painting is

on the walls, & it’s in king kong size letters size, the right change is all clear to see.

The Chickens have certainly came home to roost, & now the monkies cage, is being installed above

the chicken pen as well, with no plan ‘B’ in place. Lets be honest here, with the way we have been

run over the last few years is this a big surprise? No. It’s facing the truth which hurts sometimes, &

Reality check times, we are in @ present, that’s for sure.

  14. GeeBee

Barkas has probably had a different defence in from of him in every game he has played

  15. AN DÚN on 4TH DECEMBER 2020 10:42 AM

Can’t see anything turning for Celtic without managerial change.

Same problems evident every week for months now.

The Celtic Board are a disgrace.

Yeah & they also treat us the Supporters & Fans with contempt.

Talk about bitting the hand that feeds you, sad but true.

  16. I think Barkas is expecting the shot to go to his right. The wall is lined up to the left side of goal and he is also positioned on the left. It’s as if he’s presenting the (his) right side to the kicker. Maybe a gamble that never came off. It’s a crazy game, as we could have scored about four or five goals. However, after we scored the second, Milan upped the tempo and it was, inevitably, curtains.

  17. Just heard, nine Dundee United players have to isolate for 14 days. Due to play the huns at Tannadice on the 13th. Unbelievable.
